CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Duties and Responsibilities
- Carries out the strategic plans and policies as established by the Board of Directors and reports to the Board.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Cultural/Arts Management: Masters preferred.
- Financial and business experience: including management of day-to-day operations and long term planning preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years demonstrated experience in cultural arts management or similar environment.
- Experience/training in marketing, public relations and advocacy studies.
- Successful experience in organizational leadership, including management and leadership oversight.
- Project management skills desirable.
- 3-5 years proven experience in a similar environment.

SENIOR THEATRE TECHNICIAN
The Technical Theatre Supervisor is a Mid-Manager classification.
The person in this position will be responsible for managing the Naparima Bowl Cultural Centre's Theatre facilities, productions and technical aspects of Arts programmes in areas such as lighting, set design and construction, audio visual and Sound equipment. The Technical Theatre Supervisor will also supervise Theatre Technicians and other allied assistants and act as Stage Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate technical requirements for multiple events and ensure adequate personnel and equipment resources.
- Direct the development of theatre technical areas including set up, lighting, scenery and audio.
- Work with clients to meet desired production objectives including deadlines, schedules, rehearsals, performances, lighting and stage needs; designs light plots as required to meet productions needs.
- Interact with clients and solve technical service requirements for the host of activities.
- Make recommendations with regard to the Artist's needs for technical riders, stating a performance's technical requirements.
- Provide information and assistance to users of facilities; conduct workshops to assist practitioners in the use of the facility.
- Estimate equipment and labour required for various theatre productions as needed.
- Make recommendations regarding long-range technical services equipment for facilities.
- Develop solutions to production and facilities problems.
- Develop and maintain OSHA Safety Standards, develop and maintain an in-house Safety Standards; maintain and update annually the Accident and Injury Prevention Programme of Naparima Bowl.
- Assist in developing the technical theatre budget.
- Assist in hiring, training and over-seeing all technical theatre staff.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Technical Theatre and Stage Management techniques, including Stage sets and drawings, rigging, flys, lift systems and ground plans.
- Working with clients to meet production objectives including deadlines, schedules, rehearsals, performances.
- Reviewing producer's contracts and making recommendations regarding riders for performance's technical requirements.
- Supervising Staff including selecting, hiring, training, performance appraisal and disciplining action.
- Experience in a public sector theatrical/cultural setting is desirable.
Specific Requirements for this Position
- Any combination of experience and training that would provide required knowledge and abilities in qualifying.
Education
- Equivalent to graduation from an accredited College or University, preferably with a major in Theatre Arts, Technical Theatre or related field.
Experience
At least four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in Technical Theatre, Stage Management, Theatre Production or related area.
This job requires working a flexible Schedule including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

SENIOR FACILITIES MANAGER
The Senior Facilities Manager will coordinate and ensure the maintenance of buildings, equipment and services at Naparima Bowl. He/She will implement the maintenance policies and procedures to ensure the continuous reliability for the Bowl's equipment (electrical systems, equipment and appliances). He/She will head the maintenance team and will be required to advise the Chief Executive Officer and work along with and assist other members of staff (particularly, the Senior Theatre Technician and members of the Lighting and Sound Units) with such duties as deemed necessary by Management, to ensure the efficiency operation of the facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
Works in harmony with the Chief Executive Officer and members of the Technical Team to facilitate the functional integrity of the buildings, grounds, cleaning, parking, equipment and services of Naparima Bowl.
- Coordinates the Inventory of relevant stock, spares and sundries.
- Maintains a log of faults/repairs and prepares monthly reports for management
- Creates links with companies for annual service of systems and equipment.
- Supervises sub contractors who provide services to Naparima Bowl.
- Maintenance and operation of a diesel-powered plant.
- Maintenance of motors, switch gear, starters, pumps, voltage regulators, transformers, transmission lines and a variety of electrical equipment and appliances.
- Repairs and maintains such facilities as switchgear, electrical pumps, stand-by generator, etc.
- Ensures that all electrical lighting outlets are functional, both domestic and production.
- In collaboration with the Senior Theatre Technician, coordinates annual system-wide technical check, service and repair programme.
- Any other duties as may be required by his/her Supervisor.
Examples of Work
- Works with Chief Executive Officer to establish appropriate maintenance policies and procedures.
- Organises, plans and supervises the activities of the Maintenance team which includes the General Foreman, Agricultural Foreman and Building Foreman.
- Works closely with the General Foreman to recommend minimum consumable stocks and ensure that adequate stocks are available.

Minimum Experience and Training
- Possession of a Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical Engineering Technology OR National Technician Diploma in Electrical. Engineering or NEC Diploma in MET/MEEET or equivalent.
- Knowledge/experience or certification in Project Management and Management will be an asset.

STAGE MANAGER
The Stage Manager's job is to efficiently manage all phases of the production to encourage productive and on schedule results. In the theatre the Stage Manager is the ultimate authority.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages the rehearsals and actual productions, setting up the area, providing the requirements for the Director and cast.
- Assembles the Prompt Script - the formal record for the production.
- Ensures Safety, good time-keeping, the vision and its realisation.
- Sets and enforces all call times, makeup times, start times, keeps cast generally organized and orderly.
- Cues actions and technical elements via headset system.
Training and Experience
Should have five (5) or more years in stage management or preferably certified in Theatre craft at technical-vocational level.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong oral and communication skills.
- Ability to work with all kinds of creative people.
- Must be diplomatic, a good team player.

LIGHTING TECHNICIAN
Lighting Technician Designer sets up, maintains and operates light fixtures, control devices and the associated electrical and rigging equipment used in the Theatre/Stage productions. Designs Lighting for productions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work cooperatively with the Technical Director, to implement lighting designs. Ideally, experience in lighting designs would be an asset in this instance.
- Set up, focus and operate lighting fixtures, control consoles and auxiliary equipment.
- Perform single electrical wiring tasks, trouble shoot circuits and calculate maximum circuit loads.
- Use manual or computer control consoles to control lighting throughout a production. Perform routine maintenance functions such as replacing lamps and damaged colour filters or patters, and monitoring lighting equipment in safe working conditions.
- Attend production meetings and discuss lighting needs and special effects with directors.
- Design lighting and decide where to place lighting equipment to achieve desired effects.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Basic understanding of electricity, colour theory, lighting equipment, light modifiers, dimmers and control desks.
- Some knowledge of electronics is an asset.
- Ability to apply knowledge in a variety of situations.
- Experience five (5) years in a Theatre or related setting.
- Certification in Theatre Lights - with emphasis on Lighting Technician/Designer.
- Effective problem solving and organizational skills and excellent communication (verbal and written) with interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of various computer software programs is desired.

SOUND TECHNICIAN
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Physical duties necessary for the set-up and tear down of events.
- Provide service and support to artists, speakers and production company technical staff.
- Assist customers in determining appropriate equipment.
- Operate various audio and visual equipment, sound systems, computer monitors, slide and video equipment, etc.
- Operate sound board to control output of voices, music and pre-recorded sound effects during performances.
- Analyse scripts of dialogue and pre-recorded sound effects to determine audio requirements.
- Install and test new auditorium equipment and electronic systems.
- Install, update and maintain hardware, software and operating systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair malfunctions and perform routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment and report serious problems to Supervisor/Technical Director.
- Ensure optimal quality transmission.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree or Technical Vocational qualification or equivalent plus a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience required.
- Ability to apply advanced skills in performing arts services; auditorium event support and services.
- Experience in mixing front -of-house and monitors as well as monitors from front of house or assorted platform, including digital for theatrical productions, with knowledge of proper microphone placement and installation, frontline and backline equipment, processors, equalization, amplifier racks and monitors.
- Experience in operating digital consoles.
- Effective problem solving and organizational skills and excellent communication (verbal and written) with interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of various computer software programs is desired.
- A post offer physical examination by a doctor is required.

Wardens
Kind of Work
Work normally involves shift work covering evening and weekends and public holidays. Wardens are normally on their feet for the duration of their shifts, positioned at the main entrance to the Auditorium at the main entrance to the Auditorium or in the outdoor lobby area. Wardens are expected to deliver a Supervisor Customer Service with extreme assertive and courteous behaviour. Personnel presentation is very important and smart uniforms, often suits will be provided by Naparima Bowl.
DUTIES
- Enforcing compliance with the usage of Naparima Bowl's Auditorium/amphitheatre and any other spaces, according to stipulated rules and regulations.
- Maintain order and prevent overcrowding.
- Ensure doorways are kept clear and readily accessible.
- Debarring unauthorized persons from entering.
- Ensure that bonafide persons for official video/audio/photographic .recording are identifies.
- File reports on incidents, problems arising out of discharging of duties.

HOUSE MANAGER
This is a position of responsibility and requires organization and people skills in a service oriented setting.
As primary duty Manager, the key responsibility is to develop, manage and train the front line team to deliver the highest possible customer service for Naparima Bowl. The post is about delivery safe and effective front line operations by ensuring that the theatre is maintained and presented daily to the highest possible standards, and fully complies with current health and Safety regulations. The House Manager acts as the representative in greeting and seating the audience
Duties and Responsibilities
- Contacts ushers and inform them when to arrive and what to wear.
- Obtain reservation list from Box Office and have it available.
- Ensure that approach to dressing room, Box Office, walkway to main auditorium entrance and lobby are clean.
- Unlock main doors.
- Check condition of the seats and audience area. Ensure that all Fire Exits can be opened easily and that exit corridors etc. are not blocked.
- Verify that all exit and aisle lights are in working condition and clean.
- Check bathrooms are clean and has appropriate supplies.
- Conduct usher orientation.
- Greet and seat arriving audience especially VIP's and any who require seats for disabled.
- Handle reservation problems: people arriving on wrong night, overbooked audiences etc. General assistance to other members of the audience.
- Liaise with Stage Manager for Show's start-up intermission, etc.
- Deal with patron concerns. Make any public address to the patrons.
- Make note of complaints or suggestions and relay to staff and Stage Manager.
- Secure the building and front of house.
- Conduct Usher orientation.
Essential Experience
- At least five (5) years working in a customer facing service oriented profession.
- At least three (3) years experience of staff management/supervision
- Training delivery
- Staff Appraisal
- Bar operations/knowledge in connection with Health and Safety, Food and hygiene and building.
- Cash handling.

- Must be a person who is a strong leader organized and capable of multi-tasking.

CUSTODIAN
The Custodian job is to keep buildings and grounds clean and safe. The Custodian is a semi-skilled employee who works directly cleaning using soaps, chemicals, other detergents, waxes and the use of various machines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To clean floors, windows, fixtures, stairs, restrooms, office buildings, staff stations and any other interior or exterior spaces comprising the facility.
- Cleaning of public bathrooms - pre, during and after performances as a standard measure.
- Use cleaning supplies as some will have harsh chemical components.
- Use various machines such as buffer, vacuum cleaners, blowers, carpet machine etc.
- Must know the regulations on safety measures when using harsh cleaners on floors and other areas.
- Ability to read and recognize cleaning agents and the chemicals they are made of.
Qualifications And Experience:
- Must be in good physical condition in order to perform the duties.
- Must have at least a good sound primary and/or secondary education and be capable of reading and writing.
- Must be able to follow directions and perform work duties with limited supervision.
- Must be able to operate the equipment on their own during the job function required. (Supervisor will train the Custodian to use the equipment).
- Any previous experience/training in a similar position would be an asset.
